ICE PLANET NEWS
11/18/03 | More tasty bits of news for Pac-Man to chomp on...
Well, it's that time again. Time to do one of those random updates. Lots of random bits of info here and there which should be shared with all planeteers... First off, we updated the splash page, as you've probably noticed. The plan from here on is to update it bi-season. Next it'll be spring/summer, and on from there... The OZ Lounge will be known as the TEXAS Music and Media Forum from here on out, as opposed to the DALLAS Music and Media Forum. I'm sure it'll take awhile to update banners/buttons/etc on all the sites, but I just wanted to state it here for the record. The TEXAS (as opposed to DALLAS) reinforces the expanding nature of the OZ, bands that have been added, and bands that will be added in the future, which we don't want to simply lump in with, or limit to, Dallas folks... What happened to the OZ revamp announced months ago? We're still waiting on the latest version of the VBulletin code to be finished, which seems to be taking longer and longer to complete as time progresses. VBulletin has hinted at a December release, but we'll keep our fingers crossed... Added new links to Record Hop and Man Before Mars... Man Before Mars now has a minipage up. It's nothing to write home about visually as of yet, but there is some decent info there if interested...

Bad Dallas news: One of our all-time favorite bands (and great friends), Doosu, have decided to call it quits. Anyone who has never checked these guys out should do so IMMEDIATELY, and those of you who already have know what a loss this is. Such a great band... R.I.P...

Also, Red Animal War's super bad ass bassist Brian Pho has been canned. There's no telling what's in store for the future Red Animal War, musically, but we'll always look forward to hearing it, even without the Pho funk. Hope everything gets worked out, in what can best be described as a 'shady situation'. Good luck to all and can't wait for the next LP...

Stuff we're working on: Just finished doing the art for Last Beat Records' repressing of Darlington's CLASSIC "Pretty Ugly". Hopefully we'll get that up on the site in sample form soon. Up next is the art for Last Beat's repressing of Darlington's "Girltroversy"... Also finished an End Records compilation titled "Empty Hearts, Broken Bottles" which features Arthur, Donots, Red Animal War, Tendril, Slowride, The Charismatics, and many other great international, national, and Dallas bands. We'll let you know when it's out in stores... Finished logos for 9mm Streetwear and Shade Seven... Recently added minisites for Record Hop and Three C Entertainment... Several promotional items for Man Before Mars... Currently working on several new sites which will be mentioned at a later time... Keep checking back for all the news you can use... Rock on.

10/7/03 | Red Animal War site gets "Best of Web" from DLMS...
Our very own www.redanimalwar.com has recieved a 2003 "Best of the Web" recognition from Dallas Local Music Scene:

From www.dallaslocalmusicscene.com:

Best Raw Animal Instinct Web site: Red Animal War

This category was created for a site that appeals to our instincts about what a cool web site looks like and does. While simple, the site is very interesting and very easy to find your way around.

We talked to Brian about Red Animal War's site and got some tidbits to share about how the inspiration and the brains behind their site:

"We had a discussion about blumpkin related goals and the rest as they say is history - Darren Paul took it from there"

Brian also shared that the best part of having a great web site are definitely "the chicks".

The greatest part of the summary (aside from the blumpkining) is seeing that our webdesign philosophy ("While simple, the site is very interesting and very easy to find your way around.") is proving successful for all who prefer their sites user-friendly and convenient. Good to hear. Rock on.

6/10/03 | Welcome to the all-new Ice Planet Design!
Welcome, everyone, to the all-new, oft-delayed Ice Planet Design website. It's good to be back on the web with a 'real' website, where we can finally showcase some of the work that's come through these doors in the last year and a half. No more "what's up with the website?" questions on a daily basis. Let's clear this up: The reason for a year-and-a-half of temp site Hell? We were that busy. No joke. The site would get worked on, new projects would bump it. The site would be worked on some more, then scrapped. New projects. New site ideas. Scrapped again. Rinse and repeat. That's the story. Not that it matters, because we're not living in the past, only looking forward. This is just a taste of things to come. We're busier than ever, learning something new everyday, and growing with every project. Have a look around, let us know if we can help you out, and as always, thanks for visiting! | Posted by Dale Cooper at 3:45 CST
